Every year, Newsweek releases its list of the world’s best hospitals 2024, which it compiles in association with data-gathering specialist, Statists.

The quality of treatment largely depends on the chosen country and the specific clinic. See where the best hospitals are, where to go for treatment and which countries are considered the healthiest in the world.

On Top No 01 : Mayo Clinic

Country: United States Of America

Established in 1889 by the Mayo brothers, the Mayo Clinic has evolved into a premier medical institution. It is known worldwide for top-quality care and cutting-edge research, and has campuses in Arizona, Florida, and Minnesota.

Its clinical specialties include cardiology, oncology, and neurology, and it conducts pioneering research, particularly in genomics and regenerative medicine.

Worldwide 2,400 hospitals in 30 countries were awarded for the sixth time in cooperation with Newsweek.

Top No 02 :Cleveland Clinic

The Cleveland Clinic is a leading medical centre, and is famed for its expertise in cardiology, orthopaedics and digestive disorders. Founded in 1921, its research programmes focus on heart disease and neurological disorders.

It has over 5 million patient visits annually, and performs an estimated 228,000 surgical procedures, as well as overseeing around 9,500 clinical trials.

Top No 03 : Toronto General – University Health Network

Country: Canada

Toronto General was founded in 1819, and specialises in cardiology, organ transplantation, and critical care. Its research focuses on genomics and regenerative medicine. Notable clinical trials include those in cancer immunotherapy.

It offers medical, nursing, and allied health professional training. It performs over 20,000 procedures annually, treats over 1 million patients, and conducts around 300 clinical trials per year.

Based in Baltimore, the Johns Hopkins Hospital has a rich history of medical breakthroughs, dating back to 1889. It is known for its excellence in cardiology, neurology and oncology.

Notable research programmes focus on areas such as immunotherapy and precision medicine. It conducts numerous clinical trials annually and is also a premier training hospital. Every year John Hopkins performs around 40,000 surgeries and treats over 2 million patients.

Top No 05 : Massachusetts General Hospital

Country: United States of America (Boston)

Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston was established in 1811 and boasts a rich history of medical breakthroughs. Key research programmes include cancer immunotherapy and genetics.

Its specialties include oncology, neurology and psychiatry. It performs approximately 48,000 surgeries each year and runs around 2,500 clinical trials annually.
